Booking & Reservations
You can reserve a car online in a few minutes — choose your vehicle, pickup and return locations, dates, and insurance. You will receive a confirmation email with your booking reference and a QR code for desk check-in.

Requirements & Documents
You need a valid driver license, a credit or debit card in the primary driver name, and a passport or photo ID for international visitors. The minimum rental age is 21. See our full requirements page for details.
Insurance & Tolls
Every rental includes basic insurance. Full coverage is available at checkout. The optional toll program is a flat $15 one-time fee; your toll usage is tabulated after your rental and added to your final invoice — no per-toll invoices or rental-car toll processing fees.
Puerto Rico toll roads use AutoExpreso. With our toll program, you simply drive through and we handle the tabulation.
Pickup & Delivery
We offer free airport delivery at San Juan (SJU), Aguadilla (BQN), and Ponce (PSE) — your car is brought to you at the terminal, no shuttle. We also deliver to hotels across San Juan, Arecibo, Ponce, Mayagüez, Rincón, and more. Pickup is available at our Arecibo office.
Payment & Security Hold
A credit or debit card in the primary driver name is required for the security hold. The hold covers estimated charges plus a refundable deposit that releases within 3–7 business days after return. Cash and prepaid cards are accepted for final payment only.

What is the minimum age to rent a car in Puerto Rico?
The minimum age with JF Car Rental is 21. Drivers 21–24 may rent economy, compact, and sedan vehicles. SUVs, minivans, and pickups are available to all renters 21 and older with no hidden young-renter surcharge.
Do I need a credit card to rent a car in Puerto Rico?
A credit or debit card in the primary driver name is required for the security hold. Cash and prepaid cards are accepted for final payment only. The deposit releases within 3–7 business days after return.
Is insurance included in the rental rate?
Every rental includes basic insurance. Full coverage is available at checkout. The rate you see already reflects the insurance — there is no counter upsell for the included coverage.
How do tolls work with a rental car in Puerto Rico?
Puerto Rico tolls use AutoExpreso. Our optional toll program is a flat $15 one-time fee; your usage is tabulated after your rental and added to your final invoice. There are no per-toll invoices or third-party processing fees.
Do you deliver the car to the airport or my hotel?
Yes. We offer free airport delivery at SJU, BQN, and PSE, and free hotel delivery across San Juan, Arecibo, Ponce, Mayagüez, Rincón, and more. Your car is brought to you — no shuttle, no queue.
Can I cancel or modify my reservation?
Yes. You can modify or cancel your reservation at no charge up to 48 hours before pickup by phone or email. After that, a one-day rate may apply depending on availability.
Can I add a second driver to my rental?
Yes. Additional drivers must meet the same license and age requirements and present their license at pickup. Spouses and domestic partners are added free; other additional drivers are also added at no charge — just notify us when booking.
Can I rent a car in Puerto Rico with a foreign driver license?
Yes. International visitors may drive on a valid foreign license for up to 90 days. If your license is not in English, bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) as a translation. A passport is required as secondary ID.
